Instant StartWinning Strategies and Key Tips
To succeed at poker, you cannot rely on luck alone. Keeping a few core principles in mind will noticeably improve the quality of your game.
Hand Selection
Start by playing only strong hands. Build the habit of folding easily on weak hands — that is the first lesson of a skilled poker player.
The Importance of Position
Being in a position close to the dealer button gives you an extra advantage because you get to see your opponents' decisions first. Play more aggressively from late position.
Bankroll Management
It is wise not to put more than 5% of your total bankroll into any single session. Start at low stakes on a1777 and move up as your skill improves.
Read Your Opponents
In online poker, form an idea of your opponent's hand by observing their betting patterns, timing, and bet sizing. Keep notes and remember patterns.
